Celebrant For Life's Journeys

I’m Michelle, a celebrant of life’s journeys. Such journeys as weddings, child naming, vow renewals, memorials and funerals.

I work with the family to create and lead a personalised meaningful ceremony that reflects their unique stories, beliefs and relationships, to create a personalised ceremony script. The ceremony can be crafted with poems, music, and with rituals, to make it a special, magical and loving ceremony.

I am also a sacred celebrant. I was trained with the highly accredited, IPHM approved, Sacred Celebrants Academy whose founder priestess, Dawn Kinsella, was the driving force behind legalising pagan weddings, performing the first legal pagan Wedding in the Goddess Temple at Glastonbury, the Isle of Avalon.

I was held, nurtured, guided and blessed through the training by Elle Welsh, Fiona Pitcher, Isabel Machado-Williams and Nikki Coyne. With my beautiful sisters we called in the elements, we created sacred spaces, and we connected with the spirits of the land.

UK Handfasting Ceremony Blackpool Fylde North West

Handfasting Ceremony

The handfasting ceremony has its roots in ancient Celtic tradition and dates as far back as 7000 B.C. In ancient Ireland, when two people chose to be married, they were brought together to have a braided cord or ribbon tied around their hands in the presence of a priest. This act merely acknowledged the pair's engagement, which typically ran the length of a year and a day.

It’s been brought forward into the modern world by priestess Dawn Kinsella whom was the driving force behind legalising pagan weddings. Dawn performed the first legal pagan wedding at the sacred beautiful goddess temple in Glastonbury the heart chakra of the world. She now runs the highly accredited Sacred Celebrants Academy, a handfasting ceremony is a ceremony that connects with the earth water, air and fire, forever bonding 2 souls in love and light.

The handfasting ceremony is a symbolic ritual where a couple's hands are bound together with ribbons or cords, originating from ancient Celtic and medieval traditions. It signifies the joining of two lives and is the source of the phrase "tying the knot".

During the ceremony, the couple can make promises or vows to each other. They can exchange rings or gifts, have music poems and readings from friends and family. They will be blessed by the elements. Jump the besom broom and can have a cake and mead ritual.

The couple can create a decorated bridal hoop and a grooms wand as well as make their own cords, that will be used in the ceremony. Making it unique and personal, with lasting memories of a beautiful sacred union. It can be adapted to celebrate a vow renewal, anniversary or bonding ceremony.
